In collaboration with the Bloomington Police Department, The Monroe County Humane Association’s Street Outreach initiative proactively visits community locations, encampments around town, and transitional housing facilities such as Kinser Flats and Crawford Apartments. This comprehensive approach ensures we engage with individuals experiencing homelessness and those in transitional phases of housing.
Our mission is to ensure that veterinary wellness care is accessible to pets belonging to these valued members of our Monroe County community. Furthermore, during the colder months, our initiative assists winter shelters in providing refuge from extreme cold weather conditions.
Services offered encompass basic vaccinations for dogs and cats, flea prevention, de-worming, nail trims, and comprehensive check-ups.
Pet owners wishing to avail of these services at Kinser Flats and Crawford Apartments should present identification and proof of residency.
This program has been made possible in part by a grant from the City of Bloomington via the Downtown Outreach Grants, emphasizing our community’s dedication to holistic care and support for all residents.
